Véronique CHAUVEAU was admitted to the Paris Bar in 1984.

Before founding Cabinet Véronique Chauveau & Associés, Véronique founded Cabinet CBBC (International lawyers for a new generation of families)in 2010. She specializes in family, personal and estate law, as well as criminal law. A former secretary of the Conférence du Stage, winner of the “Concours International de plaidoiries” and former member of “Avocats sans Frontières”, she defended both perpetrators and victims before the Rwandan courts following the genocide.

For 39 years, she has represented numerous parents whose children have been victims of cross-border parental abduction. She has acted as an expert before courts in New York (at the request of the US State Dept.), Dublin, London, Istanbul… etc.

She was also an expert for the European Union on a mission to Moscow to help implement the 1980 and 1996 Hague Conventions, and in this capacity helped draw up the manual for magistrates, bailiffs and legal professionals in that country. She is a member of REUNITE (UK). Véronique studied philosophy at the University of Lyon, then law at the University of Paris I – Panthéon-Sorbonne (Master I Droit in 1984). She is a trainer in collaborative law and has taken a course in interest-based negotiation at Harvard. She has trained magistrates at the Ecole de la Magistrature in Paris and Bucharest, as well as her colleagues in France and abroad.

She is a frequent speaker at the ERA University in Trier, Germany. She is the author of two books: “Le droit de la famille” in collaboration with “Maitre Hélène Poivey-Leclercq”, member of the Paris Bar, 2 editions du seuil, and “Ruptures”, collection “Autrement”.

She is a member of IAFL (International Academy of family Lawyers), MIKK and LEPCA.
She speaks English fluently.
